MTP Level 2
MTP2
SS7 link-layer framing with flags, sequence numbers (BSN/FSN), FIB/BIB retransmission bits, and FISU/LSSU/MSU SU types. Alignment procedures and error-rate monitoring keep signaling links in service. It sits under MTP3 on traditional TDM SS7 and is emulated by SIGTRAN adaptations on IP.
