CRC

Cyclic Redundancy Check — a polynomial checksum over frame bits used to detect (not correct) transmission errors. Variants differ by width, poly, init, and reflection (e.g. CRC-15 CAN, CRC-16 Modbus, CRC-32 Ethernet FCS).
